Tab Plus replaces Chrome’s new tab page with a dashboard for focus and everyday planning. This policy applies to version 2.5.98 and later versions that use the same data practices.
DATA HANDLED
Tab Plus stores your display name, tasks, notes, preferences, reminder settings, and Top Sites customizations in local browser storage. These values are not sent to a Tab Plus server.
When Top Sites is shown, the extension reads Chrome Top Sites to display shortcuts. To show site icons, your browser may request icons from DuckDuckGo, Google, or the website itself. These requests reveal the relevant site hostname and ordinary network data such as your IP address to that provider.
If you connect or open the optional Google Calendar widget, Chrome’s identity API supplies an access token and Tab Plus requests up to eight upcoming events from your primary calendar with read-only access. The token and request go directly to Google. Event titles, times, and locations are displayed in the open new-tab page and are not saved persistently by Tab Plus or sent to a Tab Plus server. Google’s privacy practices govern Google’s handling of this information.
When you open the weather widget and no usable location is cached, Tab Plus asks ipapi.co for an approximate city and coordinates based on your IP address, then sends those coordinates to Open-Meteo for weather. The approximate location and weather summary are cached in local browser storage. These providers receive normal network metadata, including your IP address.
The gold-price widget requests public data from vang.today when used. The default Unsplash wallpaper, a user-selected remote wallpaper, and remote site icons cause your browser to contact the relevant image or website host. Those hosts receive normal network metadata; icon requests may reveal the requested hostname.
STORAGE AND DELETION
Tasks, notes, display name, preferences, reminder data, Top Sites customizations, and weather/gold caches remain in local browser storage until you delete them, clear the extension’s browser data, or uninstall the extension. Calendar event details are held only while displayed in the current page and are not persistently stored by Tab Plus. Google manages its own identity tokens; you can revoke Tab Plus access in your Google Account permissions.
LARK REMOVAL
Version 2.5.98 removes the Lark integration and makes no Lark requests. On upgrade, Tab Plus removes locally saved Lark connection settings and the cached Lark response, while retaining previously synced tasks in the local task list. The update does not contact Lark or delete historical records a formerly used Lark service may retain; manage any such records with that service.
SHARING, SALE, ADVERTISING, AND ACCESS
The publisher does not sell user data or transfer it for advertising, profiling, or purposes unrelated to Tab Plus dashboard features. The publisher operates no server that receives the data described above, and publisher employees have no routine access to it. Tab Plus contains no advertising or analytics integration.
Data goes to the third-party providers described above only as needed for the feature you use. Google, ipapi.co, Open-Meteo, vang.today, Unsplash, DuckDuckGo, and the relevant website or user-selected image host receive applicable requests. Their own privacy practices govern their handling and personnel access. If you contact the publisher for support and include personal information, the publisher can read that support message and uses it to respond.
GOOGLE API LIMITED USE
Tab Plus’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar data is used only to display upcoming events in the optional Calendar feature. It is not used for advertising or unrelated purposes and is not transferred to a Tab Plus server.
